The Real State Of Kerala

“Sweet are the uses of adversity,

Which, like the toad, ugly and venomous,

Wears yet a precious jewel in his head;

And this our life, exempt from public haunt,

Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, Sermons in stones, and good in every thing.”

Adversity has its ugly side, and if you look, you can see that adversity sometimes, brings out the best in people. From today's conversation, one thing that was made clear is people did their best. In these harsh times they came together to help one another.

There was no discrimination based on caste or religion, it was humanity that was at the forefront and not the Gods.

There were lives lost, people stranded and a huge loss of property and infrastructure. It was a painful sight to see destruction on all fronts and people in pain. But there is hope in seeing people working together to rise against the forces of nature and giving their best to help others.

Thank you Aijaz Rahi, Russell Shahul, Dominic Sebastian , Roshan George, Ramesh Kottooli Kottooli, Sabaridas for sharing your experiences on the fallout of the floods that struck the state of Kerala.

They were at the site, working and helping people. Their stories are among the many that we need to know to understand the extent of damage that the flood has inflicted on the state.

The real state of Kerala, a community that's reviving and the people ever together.
