On 31st August 2018, three volunteers from Artville, along with 3 from Wayanad Besy, Jins and Santhosh, visited some of the flood-affected areas in Wayanad, Kerala. With the help of Russel Shahul and Shinjo - a local friend- we managed to select five families in Agraharam Adivasi colony at Mananthavady, Wayanad whose houses were upto 8ft under water.
Now that the water has receded, the houses has become home to fungus, dirt and smells bad. Armed with paints and brushes, we painted the houses inside-out in two days, except one house which was badly damaged and residents abandoned it due to risk of weak roof. We left a small Mark on each house to show the level of water.
These are some of the pictures from the days we were there.
